Education Partnerships Africa

We Invest in Schools. And You.

Education Partnerships Africa is recruiting committed students to spend 10 weeks in East Africa investing time and money in one of our partner schools. Living and working in a rural community, our volunteers develop essential transferable skills whilst experiencing vibrant East African culture.

Working in teams of 2 or 3, volunteers collaborate with their school’s various stakeholders to improve the quality of education offered. Focusing on the sustainability of their interventions, they invest in new educational resources, small infrastructure projects and schemes to improve students’ health and welfare. Whilst receiving specialist training and support from the Central Charity, EPAfrica’s volunteers are given the autonomy to decide how to invest their funds, based on their school’s specific needs.

EPAfrica is continually evolving. We are driven by critical reflection and hope volunteers stay involved after their project is over, feeding their experience and insight back into the next year’s cycle to improve our programme further.

Internally, EPAfrica volunteers have access to a wide and diverse alumni network, which provides informal careers advice as well as a formal mentoring scheme. We have alumni working in a diverse range of NGOs, as well as civil servants working for the Department for International Development and academics working on development-related issues.

Deadline: 27th January
