We
have a number of tutoring posts currently available for undergraduates and
postgraduates, and I was just wondering if you could bring this to the
attention of your students.

We
pay between £17 and £55 per hour, depending on previous tutoring experience
(which is not essential). The hours are very flexible and part time (a
typical tutoring job is 1 hour per week), so teaching can be easily fitted
around studies. Sometimes clients request Skype tuition, or face-to-face
teaching in Cambridge.

More
information on Titanium Tutors can be found at www.titaniumtutors.co.uk and
our Applicant Pack is at http://docs.titaniumtutors.co.uk/applicantpack.pdf.

Cambridge Homeless Outreach Program

Cambridge Homeless Outreach Programme (CHOP) are in need of some more college reps and it would be so great if you could take the time to send an email out to the students in your colleges making them aware of this.

Being a college rep for CHOP is fairly low commitment but still makes a huge difference. Reps are required to host at least one fundraiser within college per term, attend two meetings a term and are encouraged to promote and share CHOP information within their college. When shelters approach us with a need for volunteers, we will reach out to our reps first, before asking the wider student community.

Here’s a little bit about CHOP in case people are unaware: the CHOP executive committee is constantly researching ways in which the student body can provide support for the homeless population in Cambridge. We are the contact-point for students looking to volunteer, as well as campaigning and fundraising for this cause ourselves.

If students wish to apply, could you ask them to send an email to cambridgehomelessoutreach@gmail.com with the subject title ‘College Rep Application’. We are having our first rep meeting of term on Monday the 23rd so I would be so grateful if you could let students know as soon as possible so they have time to apply before then.

Cambridge Development Initiative

Cambridge Development Initiative (CDI) is a student-led development CIO whose work is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. CDI is a collaborative organisation, made up of Cambridge students and students from universities in Dar es Salaam. Each year, around 30 Cambridge students work with their Tanzanian counterparts on designing, implementing and managing its 4 development projects. CDI’s projects run throughout the year, during which time our student volunteers – both in the UK and in Tanzania – work to sustainably evaluate and develop the work we do, and look at new opportunities to expand our projects. This culminates in a two-month period over the summer, where the UK students are based in Dar es Salaam, and live and work alongside their Tanzanian colleagues.

CDI’s current project streams are in four key areas:
·  WaSH: Piloting the world’s first simplified sewerage and biogas system – a business model with frugal innovation and strong community engagement;
·  Health: Improving the accessibility and affordability of primary health care by implementing an entrepreneurial model of health product delivery;
·  Education: Empowering secondary school students to design and implement creative solutions to local problems and become innovative agents for change in their communities;
·  Entrepreneurship: Designing and running an eight week entrepreneurship course at the University of Dar es Salaam, equipping young entrepreneurs and networks with the skills and contacts they need to progress.
