Welcome to SJC// JCR Ethical Affairs!

Magnificent things have been achieved in the field of Ethical Affairs at John's in recent years, prompting praise and all round back patting by staff and students alike.

But what is Ethical Affairs?

Broadly, Ethical Affairs encompasses all movements that attempt to apply a more sustainable set of principles to the day-to-day running of college life.

In practice, this means engaging with wider issues, such as global warming and unfair trade, and implementing change at the college level, in part through the Environmental Policy. It also involves promoting charity events and fundraising, either for the JCR Charity (Cystic Fibrosis Trust) or the University-wide Charity organisation RAG.

Why not find out how you too can be part of an ever-expanding ethical transformation in St John's? Use the Societies link to check out the whole range of groups operating within College, from internationally renowned organisations such as Amnesty International, to student-established groups such as Cambridge University International Development.

With such a variety of groups and events at St John's, you're bound to find your 'ethical fix' here. If you have any questions, queries, or even ethical banter, then email me on pn258@cam.ac.uk.
