BIOGRAPHIES:----------------------------------------
CUJO
The Cambridge University Jazz Orchestra (CUJO) is Cambridge's premier
vehicle for promoting and performing jazz in the University and
beyond.
CUJO brings together the top jazz musicians in the university. We have
performed in numerous professional venues in the UK on national tours,
won gold awards in UK-wide big band competitions and have collaborated
with world-famous musicians, composers and arrangers such as Steve
Waterman, Mark Nightingale, Issie Barratt and Mike Gibbs. The band
regularly tours abroad - in April this year we are travelling to Rome,
and in July will be appearing at the prestigious Montreux jazz
festival.
The group is 20-strong and plays a wide variety of music, including
arrangements performed by the leading big bands of today such as the
Lincoln Center and Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestras. We do stay
committed to our roots however - our pads feature the full repertory
of standards, swing, and funk as well as a number of classic vocal
charts.
----------------------------------------
Imperial College Big Band
The award-winning Imperial College Big Band is one of the most active
musical societies at Imperial College, performing extensively
throughout the academic year at a variety of venues, including top
London jazz clubs and joint ventures with universities around the UK.
Our constantly expanding repertoire includes arrangements made famous
by the likes of Gordon Goodwin, Buddy Rich and Frank Sinatra. The big
band’s very popular gigs form an integral part of the Union
entertainment calendar, culminating in our performance at the
prestigious Imperial College Summer Ball.
----------------------------------------
Jules Chou-Lambert Quartet
Jules Chou-Lambert – Vocals
Matt Fletcher – Keys
Misha Mullov-Abbado – Bass
Dave Burgoyne – Drums
The Jules Chou-Lambert Jazz Quartet have been playing together for
three years and counting, and have played at Trinity, John’s,
Magdelene, Peterhouse May Balls, the CNY Ball, and the Law Ball among
others. All of them have been soloists in Cambridge’s top big bands.
They will bring you a mix of jazz with twists of Funk, Latin, Soul,
and Blues.
