Churchill College Spring Ball - What 'A Hard Day's Night' has to offer you
As you already know, on *12th February* is *A Hard Day’s Night**,
* this year’s *Spring Ball at Churchill*.
It’s a sixties theme because our college opened its doors in 1960 (six years after yours).
We can’t promise the Beatles because one of them died.
Fidel Castro offered a talk on women’s rights in Cuba,
but we declined because we couldn’t hear him through his beard.
However, we have compiled a list of what we *can* promise,
and why you should visit us on 12th Feb:
· *JAGUAR SKILLS*!! :-D
· *The Rumble Strips *– “Trumpet, sax and a whole lot of weirdness” – NME
· *Human table football* – because Germany didn’t hurt enough the first time around.
· *Moon-landing ball pit* – for the conspiracy-theorists and the cheese-connoisseurs.
· *Bowling alley* – see to the pins with more drunken fervour than Mick Jagger
on brown sugar!
· *Silent disco* – deep in the concrete, time-sealed cavern of the Archives Centre,
why rave to the same song as your mates when their music taste is *so* much worse?
Build buttercups your own way!
· *Churchill Casino* – the biggest casino in Cambridge brings you the perfect place
to act out your tuxedoed 007 fantasies – without the danger of getting your crotch lasered!
· *Giant Twister* – in the sixties, sensibly sized Twister was unfathomable.
· *Mini Bar – *literally, a Mini. That is a bar.
· *Cuban Missile Crisis Cool-down Room* – a relaxing massage parlour,
for when the stress of preventing nuclear war/avoiding that ComSci with a thing for
you becomes all too much!
· *Beatles Rock Band *– for an intoxicated, glorious fifteen minutes *you* will lead*
*the British Invasion.
· *Blueprint* – Cambridge’s premier boyband will reduce girls and guys to
screaming sixties groupie wrecks.
· *Cadenza *– with the a cappella siren song that wooed the nation on
*Last Choir Standing*.
· *EllaFunks *– up-and-coming Cambridge stars with a rare funk-soul sound
· *Five chocolate fountains*
· *Three French hens (not a guarantee)*
· *Sixties cocktails – *an Irn Curtain or a Cheeky Fidel, anybody?
· *Unlimited free food and drink *– champagne, cocktails, shots, retro sweets,
doughnuts, fajitas, falafels, curry-on-naan, milkshakes, good old English sausage ‘n’ mash
and tons more.
· *Total transformation *– on the 12th February, Churchill will *be*the sixties.
