Conference: British Education: Our last Great export?

Date: Friday 1 March 2013 – 08:50 – 16:00

British education continues to be an on-going success story: our top universities are over-subscribed with applications from overseas students, and independent schools (as well as a small number of universities) have opened ‘branches’ in emerging markets in the China, Malaysia and the Middle East.

In a shrinking world of traditional export opportunities, there is one Great British product that is still attracting international attention.  Join this important conference on 1st March to explore how both educational institutions and private companies can capitalise on these rapidly developing markets.

The keynote will be delivered by His Royal Highness the Duke of York, Lord Bilimoria on Opportunities in India and Abroad, Lord Wei on Opportunities in China and the Far East, Martin Jacques, author of ‘When China Rules the World’  will provide essential cultural and political essence of the new superpower the West is competing with, and share his knowledge of how the West can benefit from working with the Chinese government.  Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia will talk about opportunities in the Gulf.  Lord Bilimoria will speak about opportunities in India and Abroad and Lord Wei about opportunities in China and the Far East.

Speakers include: HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York,  Lord Bilimoria, Chairman, UK/India Business Council;  Lord Wei, politician and businessman, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, former British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Martin Jacques author,  Rod Bristow, CEO, Pearson Education; Dr William Richardson, General Secretary, HMC; Sir Michael Rake, Chairman BT Group plc; Dr Anthony Seldon, Master, Wellington College, Dr Mark Abell, Partner, Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP,  Professor Michael Worton, Vice Provost, UCL.

We expect a great deal of interest from school leaders and vice chancellors, as well as those involved in every aspect of this expanding business, ranging from architects, engineers, law firms and technology companies.  For parents interested in working with new and dynamic markets this is a conference that cannot be missed.

£150.00 per delegate to include all refreshments and a sit down lunch
